What “held” and “released” mean
How your payment is protected until you approve the final delivery.
When you pay for an order, your dashboard shows the payment as held. It stays held while we work, through every preview and revision.
The payment is marked as released only when you approve the final delivery. That's your confirmation that you've received what you paid for.
If you cancel while it's held
Cancel before work starts and you get a full refund. Cancel after work starts and you pay a cancellation fee for the work done so far; the rest is refunded. You see the exact amounts before you confirm.
If you don't respond to a final delivery, we'll remind you. See “Approving the final delivery” for how long an order stays open.
